Thy Will Be Done

Most of the time, when we need certain things from God, we tend to just ask; God please give me this and that etc.

We forget that though our Lord has instructed us to ask Him for our needs, we still have to ask in accordance with His will. The man with leprosy in Matthew 8:1-4, though it was his wish to be clean, and would've done anything to achieve that state, yet still, in requesting this, asked Jesus if He was willing to make him clean.

Indeed the Lord Jesus was willing and made him clean. Sometimes when we find ourselves in situations that seem beyond our capabilities, let's remember to take it to God in prayers but in doing so, asking for His will to be done.

Because we are flesh and blood, and our Maker is a Spirit, we don't always understand His ways. In fact, God will cease to be God the very day we understand everything about Him. For this reason, we may not always comprehend why He allows certain things to come our way.

We should always keep it in the back of our minds that the will of God for us is to be wealthy, to live a good life, to be greater than we are now, but it takes a process to get to these things. Let's learn to be patient in our circumstances and also learn to ask for the will of God to be done in our lives.
