The Call

Read: Matthew 14:22- 33 From the verse 25, the bible says that "the Jesus that the disciples left behind sailing is now coming towards them, walking on the sea". This is probably the other side of Jesus which His disciples have yet to see. They were afraid and troubled, thinking this is a ghost! Some perceived others may see Him as a spirit.

When He drew nearer, they realized it was their master, teacher, friend, and doctor Jesus. Peter out of the faith he had in Him, ordered for his call so He could also walk on the sea.

May our faith cause us to ask for the seemingly impossible things from the Lord, Amen. The bible says that he started walking on the sea immediately after the call without seeing the roaring of the waters, the splashing waves and the seagull- screams.

Now we have to understand that God's call does not automatically ease us from all worries and troubles we have. As we become obedient to His calling, we grow to understand that these troubles and worries are there to strengthen us, help us to grow, and mature in Him.

When we look at the calling of Moses, Noah, Paul, Abraham and the rest, their calling wasn't to rest. They faced storms and waves yet they never lost their focus on their calling.

Before Christ called Peter, the storms and the waves were there and even when he responded to the calling it was still there. It is important to understand that the calling of God is not also for personal gains but to serve and to suffer for Christ: Acts 9:15- 16.

DECLARATION Lord Jesus thank You for your word today, please help me to be obedient to Your call and also understand that your calling is not for my personal interest but to serve and to suffer for Christ's sake, Amen.
