Give Thanks

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Psalm 107:1

Have you given thanks this morning? Have you expressed to your maker, how much you appreciate all that He does for you? It's not too late to give thanks. Our Lord God does so many things for us, day in and day out, and sometimes we forget to give him thanks. God expects us to show appreciation when he does something for us. When we look at the 10 lepers who Jesus healed, but only one came back and thanked him, Jesus asked him "where are the other nine?" That clearly shows He expects us to show gratitude when he comes to our aid.

We don't have to wait for the big things we are praying for to be answered before we say thank you God. Waking up this morning is a major blessing.

I have cultivated the habit of giving thanks the moment I wake up in the morning such that, even when I happen to wake up to pee in the middle of the night, I say thank you Lord for another day. The more we thank God for the little things he does for us, the more He will be inclined to do the bigger things.

God deserves our thanksgiving because when we look back at where we used to be, and see how far he has brought us, we can boldly say he has done great things in our lives. If you didn't have the habit of giving thanks, learn it today. Let it be a part of you, and God will continue to do more in your life. Our God in indeed good, and His mercy endureth forever!

DECLARATION Father Lord, forgive me for not appreciating the things you do for me. From today, I'll begin to let giving you thanks become a part of me. Thank you for loving me and providing for me! Amen!
