Forgive
The hardest thing we can ever give away is not money or any other material thing, but ‘’forgiveness’’.
Ephesians 4:32 says ‘’Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.’’ Any time you sit back and think about the hurt and pain people have caused you just say the word 'forgiveness.' It always goes to those who don’t deserve it. Forgiveness flies in the face of all your pride and moves away the grudge you hold inside. Undoubtedly, it is always anger’s own worst enemy.
Forgiveness is not a sign of weakness but rather, an attribute of strength. Any time you forgive someone, the past doesn't change but you sure do change the future.
You might have the right to hold a grudge against the person but listen to the whisper in your ears saying ‘’forgive and let go.’’
Some of the difficult things in life is to love the unlovable, reach the unreachable and also do the impossible. Can you imagine how powerful forgiveness could be? It clears the bitterness away and sets you the prisoner free. So why don’t you let it go and be amazed and enjoy the wonderful creations of God?
It is funny to me when I hear some Christians saying ‘’I have forgiven you but won’t forget what you did to me.’’ Forgiveness and forgetting what the person did to you always go together and they are inseparable.
Remember that God forgave you first and drew you to himself so you must do likewise. When God forgives you, he doesn’t remember the formal things anymore, and we need to do the same as Christians. If you need God to be merciful unto you, then show mercy to the fellow that wronged you by letting go.
DECLARATION
Lord Jesus, I thank you for opening the eye of my understanding to see the essence of forgiveness. I pray that you will give me the strength to always forgive people that wrong me as you always forgive our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
