Waiting Upon The Lord

Those who wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength. They shall mount like wings of an eagle. They shall run but not faint, they shall walk but not be weary.

Isaiah 40:31 How patiently do you wait upon the Lord? When we take our request and supplication to God, do we wait patiently for an answer, or do we take matters into our own hands and forget God? Waiting, is a difficult thing to do for us Christians because, there's no guarantee that what we ask of the Lord, is the answer we will receive because, we don't know what exactly is the will of God for our lives.

My husband always says, "go to God with faith and assurance that whatever we ask in His name, that is what He the Lord will do. But if He doesn't, then it's not in his plan for you." I believe that these are some of the things that makes waiting on the Lord very difficult.

THE UNKNOWN. We can imagine how Abraham and Sarah felt after God told them that they would have a son. Years went by, and it hadn't been fulfilled. But they patiently waited at the appointed time of God, and God kept his promise to them. Genesis 27:1-6

There are so many instances in the Bible where people had to wait patiently for an answer from the Lord, and when they were able to wait, the Lord never disappointed them. It is a lesson for us modern day Christians to also cultivate the habit of waiting upon the Lord no matter how bad our situation may seem. When we are able to wait patiently, God is left with no other choice but to come to our aid.

That situation you are in now, that you think there no way out, take it to the Lord and patiently wait his response. He won't disappoint you! Declaration Father, help me to wait upon you no matter the circumstance I find myself in. Amen!
