Not by Qualifications
Moses said in the presence of the LORD, "Look, I'm not a persuasive speaker, so how will Pharaoh listen to me?" Genesis 6:30
When I was told the I will be leading morning devotion I was nervous and felt like I wasn't ready. That was actually the first time in my and also my audience was too much for me. In a population of about 1000 students, oh Lord, that was huge. My fear wasn't about the people in general, it was about what to say and how to say it. First of all, what kind of message am I going to give. How am I going to say it and what if I make mistakes in my deliveries? These were my biggest fear. People always made fun of others when they made grammatical errors in their deliveries and so I wasn't going to be a victim of that.
Like Moses when the Lord called him he wasn't a good speaker. He wasn't as eloquent and full of persuasive words, he wasn't even known by all? Yet the Lord called him out of the burning bush to save His people. David was just a shepherd when he received his calling?
There were his elderly brothers who were fully grown but they were not what God wanted. Joseph, Jesus’ earthly father was an ordinary carpenter yet the Lord overlooked all the scholars of the city and chose him to become the one to nurture the Messiah.
God chooses the unqualified to qualify them for His work. He doesn't look at the outside of a man but the inside. Don’t belittle yourself. Respond to your calling, avail yourself to the good works He has entrusted to you and He will be glorified through you Amen.
Prayer Lord Jesus thank You for your word today, I pray that from this day forth I will never think of what to say and how to say it and also not look at how I am but how You see me in Jesus name. Amen.
