Get Prepared

The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’ ‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ Matthew 25:8-9

I remember when the FDA announced their coming to audit the facility of the company I work for. The company had to seize all operations for three good days for a massive cleaning and detailing. Three days of no operations.

The company would lose roughly 2 to 3 million dollars. Every weekend there is always a deep cleaning of all the tool, tanks, mixers, ceilings and everything that is used in both the offices and the production floor yet, they still shut the plant down for 3 good days. Was this worth it? Of course, yes.

To the company that’s their life, their soul and everything that matters most. What about us believers? The coming of Christ is nearer that we could ever think, but are we ready? Are we preparing for His coming? Just like the ten virgins, all our lives, our fellowshipping, our sacrifice (time, money and other personal belonging) towards the kingdom business are geared towards the coming of the Messiah.

But we still need to be extra prepared.

The bible says that the coming of Him will be like the thief coming. No one knows when He will come, lest we prepare for Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:2. How are we preparing towards the coming of the Lord? Are we going to be like the five virgins who couldn’t see the bridegroom because they weren’t fully prepared for the uncertainty? Or like the other five who were fully prepared whether it was going to be rainy or sunny? It would be sad to start a race and never get to the finish line. Our preparations will get us to our final destination: Heaven. Get Prepared.

Declaration:

Lord Jesus, I thank You for your Word. I pray that henceforth, You charge me to stay prepared for Your coming, and to stay eager and ready for You always. Amen!
