Seeking the Face of God

“And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!”” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭32:26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Prayer, as we know it, is a communication between us and God. A good friend of mine once said, it's a communication in which, what really matters the most is the response we receive from God, rather than what we have to say to him. This concept of communication is very true, but at the same time, what we have to say to our Father, must also not be limited.

Our father in Heaven knows all things. He knows all that we need to survive on this earth and yet He doesn't just give them to us. He still wants us to ask for them. Through our asking, He provides our needs.

With that said, as Christians, we must not stop communicating with God. As the Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that we should pray without ceasing. We must always bring our supplications to the Lord in hopes of hearing from Him. Sometimes we feel when we pray once about a certain situation in our lives, God has to hear us right away and answer us, but God doesn't always work in that manner. Sometimes He requires a bit more effort from us in order to answer us.

Jacob, who had stolen his brother's blessings from him, wrestled with God until God blessed him and changed his name to Israel. Just imagine Jacob praying a simple prayer "God bless me" and leaving it at that. But in this case, this request required a lot more than just that simple prayer. It required an intense battle with the Lord in order for the Lord to hear him.

What am I saying? Sometimes, simple prayers work. Other times, constant and consistent reminders of our needs from our Father is needed.

When you pray, and your prayers don't get answered right away, don't stop, keep reminding God and thanking Him for an answered prayer. The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man, avails much. So you see, your constant communication with the Lord, avails much and therefore, don't give up on your situation that seems hopeless and lifeless. The Lord will hear you and work on your behalf. And remember, all things work out for good for those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose. Keep praying and never give up!

Prayer Dear God, help me to seek Your face in every situation I find myself. Give me the patience to wait for a response from you. Amen!
