Growing
I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 1 Corinthians 3:2
There was a time when we didn't know Christ at all correct? Then, there came a time when we heard of Him but still didn't have any relationship with Him. But now, hopefully, we can boldly say we know Christ, and have an intimate relationship with him.
You see, it's a process. We have to start somewhere, before we get to the next step. The scripture in 1 Corinthians 3:2 talks about been fed with milk because the Corinthians were not grown enough in the Lord to take in solids. Just as babies don't arrive and begin eating solids, that's how our Christian lives ought to be. But also, in the same way that a baby doesn't drink milk forever, we as Christians have got to grow and begin eating solids. Maybe at first, when you received Christ, all you were able to do everyday was say thank you Lord for another day. Perhaps that was enough. But as time went on, as you said thank you each day, you also adapted a habit of reading a scripture. Then, you began spending time studying the word and also finding time to spend in prayers. It's a process. Today I challenge you to access your relationship with the Lord. Where are you in your walk with Christ? Are you still drinking milk? Have you graduated to eating solids but eating the same solid food for the longest time? Take some time and evaluate yourself, and take on the process to make the necessary changes. We've got to grow in the Lord as Christians. Prayer Heavenly Father, I've been a baby for far too long. Help me to grow in my relationship with you today in Jesus' name I pray! Amen!
