Challenges I may face when I learn to forgive and how to deal with them [Day 4]

Choosing to forgive can cause some challenges for us as Christians. Challenges we must ignore because this is what is required of us as Christians. As Christians, people may take our forgiving hearts as weakness, but that shouldn’t bother us because we know what benefits we are receiving from being forgiving towards others.
People may take our forgiving headsets as a sign of insecurity: wanting friends, and therefore being pushovers. But again, that’s ok. As long as we know that when we forgive, only when we forgive others, does the Lord also forgive us, we shouldn’t be bothered by the comments others make about our zeal to forgive and not to hold on to grudges against our fellow brothers and sisters.
Our forgiving attitudes may also cause people to think that we are stupid or perhaps fools. I think it’s safe for us to say that, we will rather be fools and receive the forgiveness of God our Father, rather than be wise and not be forgiven by our Father in Heaven.
In short, when we choose to forgive, people may talk about us behind our backs as being weak, stupid, fools, pushovers or what have you. But that will not stop us from doing what is right: letting go and not holding on to resentment towards anyone. By so doing, we gain more than we lose, and our Father in Heaven is most proud of us for obeying His Word. I’m willing to be a fool for Christ for the sake of forgiveness. What about you?
Prayer Father, this day, I choose to forgive no matter than consequence. Help me to be able to do it in Jesus’ name. Amen!
