Unity in the Church [Day 4]
There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— Ephesians 4:4 ESV The church functions just as the human body does. It has a head, arms, legs, tongue and the list continues. We see that most churches in our communities consist of people of different races and ethnicities. There's no black or white when it comes to the church, we're one body and one spirit with one faith and one baptism. Christ basically wants the church to increase physically, mentally and spiritually just as He did (Luke 2:52), and so He has given to the apostles to expand the church, prophets to edify the church , the evangelists to go through out the world to propagate the gospel, the shepherds or pastors to train, rear and nurture the church, and teachers to teach the church the right path to go and increase in spirit, mind and stature. Ephesians 4:11. Note that Christ did not plant all these gifts in one person. Collectively, we build the church. It is not a one-man business but everyone's business. These gifts are to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ and not for separations. Ephesians 4:12.
