Importance of self control [Day 2]
Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. Proverbs 25:28
If one has no self discipline then anything goes in their life. The bible says a person without self control is like a city with broken down walls. A city should be guarded with walls to keep out intruders. It must have values and traditions that are kept sacred. When a city has no walls, people will enter and leave as they please, bringing in negative and awful behaviors unbeknownst to its people. Values get lost in the midst and chaos begins to reign. This is especially true in our lives as well. Self control is one of the most important traits a person can have. It brings peace and calm to all the storms life throws at us. When you exercise self control, external forces wont have such a great pull on the decisions we make in life. Self control allows us to sit back and ponder things before we make rash decisions. It is important in even the little things such as being on time or how much we eat. Self control allows us to optimize the best qualities in us.
Father thank you for allowing me to see the importance of self control. Help me to use it to navigate through what ever situations I may face. In Jesus's Name! Amen!
